It is an 3000 km long solar car race stretched on the out backs of Australia from Darwin to Adelaide.
Teams comprise of tertiary and secondary students from over 30 countries, who together with their support team, achieve greatness by engineering and building a vehicle with their own hands and powering it across some of the world’s most challenging landscape.
The Challenge encourages the development of the world’s most efficient electric vehicles technologies, pushing teams to maximize the power in every charge, source energy from the sun, and recover kinetic energy from the vehicle itself.
The WSC tests team’s ingenuity, teamwork, engineering prowess, and ability to expertly balance their car’s battery level and solar array input. Successful teams will cross the finish line having completed the race on pure solar energy.
